Warrington is located on a number of transport routes and junctions.

One of the oldest of these is the Bridgwater Canal and we would be delighted if anyone wishes to travel by boat.

Alternatively we have the following :-

  • Rail
  • Motorway
  • Cyclable Road
  • The Trans Pennine Trail

and anyone coming from abroad may use either the Liverpool or Manchester Airports.

If needed then some Warrington taxi companies are :-

Abba Cars    01925 444444
Crown Cars    01925 234567

Rail

Warrington has two railway stations. Warrington Bank Quay is on the West Coast main line and connects directly to Scotland, London, the Southeast, West and Southwest. It also has some trains to Chester and on to North Wales. Warrington Central serves the cross country routes with links from Merseyside, Yorkshire, the East Midlands and East Anglia.

Both stations are within a few hundred yards of the conference locations and shown in our Locations page.

Motorway

M62, M6, and M56 all converge on Warrington (aren't we lucky!). Just follow directions to the town centre.

Cyclable Road

You know the score. Just find your way using your own initiative and don't expect any cycle specific signs. It can be very pleasant on the lanes around Warrington.

Folding cycles can be brought into the conference and there will be secure stands available for cycles.

The Trans Pennine Trail

Those coming cross country could of course use the famous Trans Pennine Trail which passes through Warrington.

Canal

I would suggest www.britishwaterways.co.uk!!!

Warrington Cycle Campaign has over 200 members and is committed to making better use of the roads for all sectors of the community. Our main objectives are:-
  • A safer environment by the adoption of a 20mph speed limit in all urban areas

  • On-road cycle training for all children

  • Better account taken for the needs of cyclists at road junctions and roundabouts

  • Responsible cycling - using lights at night and respecting pedestrians

Take a look at their website to view topical issues, etc

20's Plenty For Us provides a wide range of resources, information and material for local 20's Plenty campaigners. These include many mixed groups where cyclists and pedestrians are working together for lower speed limits where people live.
Cyclenation (formerly Cycle Campaign Network) works to create a nation of cycle friendly communities and is the federation of local cycle campaigns with nearly 90 such campaigns throughout the UK.
CTC - the UK's national cyclists' organisation, are the country’s largest group of people on bikes. Their mission is to make cycling enjoyable, safe and welcoming for all. Their work includes high-profile campaigning on behalf of all cyclists.
